In a lot of western societies... and some eastern societies... people are forced to remain children for a long time. To act like and be seen as children until they finish their schooling around age 30. This is at least partially due to the longer lifespan that seems to give license for mandates that people spend longer in university to be able to qualify for jobs. The increased lifespan and the chance-for-further-education parts are good but the enforced emotional immaturity is torture for all involved. It isn't necessary at all. And emotional immaturity-- least of all when it's enforced-- isn't necessary in order to have higher education or a longer lifespan.
The commentary is not the point... The point is. The point is not commentary... It's the point. We get so bogged down in the commentary that a lot of us are often made to study until we're 30, in order to improve and prolong our and others' lives, that we waste our lives pushing ourselves trying to improve and prolong them... With often not enough or little if any conscious regard for the point of it all. This makes us bitter. That bitterness, coupled with and working together with the having been forced to forget the plot, then makes us all act in emotionally stunted/crippled/immature/disturbed ways towards each other.
